Mad Hatter Muffler

The Worm Guys creator, Kevin Doyle, has been welding strange and whimsical artwork for over 35 years. He calls in "muffler art". Kevin owns a muffler shop in Davie, Florida, and has been building custom exhaust systems since 1972; and of course making muffler art out of old mufflers. His "muffler art" is generally quite large: a four foot high rabbit, a five foot high duck, a fifteen foot dragon, and a thirty six foot long caterpillar.

Among other classic cars and trucks that frequent his shop was a 1972 Volvo P1800 Sports Coupe. After fabricating the twin tailpipes for the Volvo, he had an idea. The small tailpipe pattern would make a unique size of "muffler art". A couple of arms, legs, and eyes and there you go. But the little pipe people needed accessories.
